Britain’s blue passports will be issued for the first time in almost three decades next month, marking Britain’s exit from the EU, the government said “Guardian”.
They will replace the standard burgundy passports used in the Community since 1988
Interior Minister Priti Patel welcomes return of blue passports but pro-European activists and politicians in Northern Ireland warn that new passports will lead to queues of British citizens at airports and ports upon entry into the EU.
The UK law enforcement agency said the blue passport would be “the greenest British passport in history”. A spokesman said the carbon footprint of the production would be reduced to net zero emissions through projects such as tree planting.
Also, the passport is presented the most technologically advanced. The document contains innovative technologies to protect personal data. Provides better protection against theft and counterfeiting.
However, the enthusiasm of the interior ministry is not shared by the European movement, as the blue passport will be seen by many Europeans as an insult.
